"Transfert" in Studio Gallery from September 16



September 16 – November 17, 2019

Opening: Monday, September 16, 7 PM

The exhibition Transfert focuses on the issues of migration and exile. Furthermore, the show discusses displacement within artworks: transmission of data, breaking the structures of communication and exchange of codes. The dominant motives are: phantom islands, mobile dwellings, shifting horizons, the Mediterranean as a borderline between death and survival. The participating artists are: Teodor Ajder, Katy Bentall, Hubert Czerepok, Christina Dimitriadis, Louisa Gouliamaki, Anton Ginzburg, Agnieszka Kurant, Sehar Mapara, Ghenadie Popescu, Eliza Proszczuk, Tomasz Szerszeń, Laura Waddington and Wiktoria Wojciechowska. The exhibition features also a research project on the iconography of migration by Paweł Mościcki, and works from the Galeria Studio collection by Koji Kamoji, Jadwiga Maziarska and Erna Rosenstein.
