The Little Stage
"Educated despite himself," Hrabal's protagonist has been operating a press in a Prague waste-paper depot for thirty five years of his life. He lives in a world of books, memories and eccentrics, who come to his place of work. However, this world is slowly passing away and the press operator's work ends up in a catastrophe.
For all that, Hrabal's farewell suite dwells also on the positive and offers scenes of humour and kind affirmation of life.

Premiere: 12 December 2003.
