| Galeria STUDIO was founded in 1972 from the initiative of professor Józef Szajna, whose intention was to achieve a synthesis between art and theatre on the territory of the institution that he ran. From the beginning of its activity, it allowed for all forms of creativity, including the non-orthodox ones. This is the place where the first presentations of performances and media art took place, welcoming contemporary music and experimental theatre. Its activity became a model for the future art centres. Presently, we want to refer to this tradition and invite the artists who actively confront their times and the tradition of art to create the programme. The activity of the gallery would not be complete without mentioning the the art collection that constantly keeps growing, which enables successive openings of the permanent exposition in the representational staircase of the theatre and in the space of the foyer. It also enables organizing exhibitions in the centres outside of Warsaw that want to be in touch with the classics of the Polish contemporary art. The collection of the Galeria includes the works of many outstanding Polish artists, such as: Magdalena Abakanowicz, Krzysztof Bednarski, Jerzy Bereś, Marian Bogusz, Tomasz Ciecierski, Tadeusz Dominik, Zbigniew Dłubak, Jan Dobkowski, Edward Dwurnik, Stefan Gierowski, Izabella Gustowska, Jerzy Kałucki, Koji Kamoji, Grzegorz Kowalski, Edward Krasiński, Lech Kunka, Alfred Lenica, Natalia LL, Jadwiga Maziarska, Teresa Pągowska, Jerzy Rosołowicz, Jacek Sempoliński, Jacek Sienicki, Kajetan Sosnowski, Henryk Stażewski, Józef Szajna, Jan Tarasin, Jerzy Tchórzewski, Ryszard Winiarski, Ryszard Woźniak, Włodzimierz Jan Zakrzewski, Jerzy Zieliński...
